Offering high performance with the best power to weight ratio in the 60cc class of chainsaw, the Stihl MS 400.1 C-M petrol chainsaw is designed with professionals in mind. Lightweight with excellent control, the MS400.1C-M weights in at 5.5kg which is 500g lighter than its predecessor, the MS400C-M, while still maintaining excellent power output of 3.9kW and 4.3Nm of torque.

With an effective anti vibration system whereby the machine’s engine is dampened which reduces vibrations significantly reduced to allow for longer periods of use with comfort. The MS400.1 has increased torque output of 4.3Nm which means the chainsaw is less sensitive to pressure when cutting large timber so it is less likely to bog down during the cut.

Featuring a Stihl 2-Mix engine which uses 1-in-4 channel technology to provide high torque over a wide speed range. Compared to a standard 2 stroke engine, the 2-Mix engine provides fuel savings of up to 20% whilst reducing exhaust emissions by up to 50%. The MS400.1C-M also comes with a larger HD2 air filter which is made from polyethylene material offering up to 70% finer pores compared to a fleece air filter, allowing it to catch even very fine dust. The HD2 air filter is oil and water repellent so can be cleaned easily. The filter is easy to remove without the need of tools with a quick release lock.

The MS400.1C-M is easy to start thanks to the ElastoStart feature and the decompression valve. The ElastoStart reduced the shock on the recoil thanks to a spring in the starter handle, while the decompression valve reduced the compression making the recoil easier to pull.

Boasting M-Tronic engine management, the MS400.1C-M chainsaw engine automatically adjusts the ignition timing and fuel metering and takes in to consideration the external conditions such as temperature, altitude and fuel quality. It provides consistent engine performance, a constant maximum speed and superb acceleration. The M-Tronic engine recognises a cold or warm start so the chainsaw has a combi lever to start, so regardless of if it’s a cold or warm start the chainsaw starts up with ease and optimum acceleration is achieve in a few seconds.

Captive nuts on the sprocket reduce the risk of losing the nuts. To tension the chain with ease and without the need to have contact with the chain, the tensioning screw is located on the side of the sprocket cover. A variable displacement oil pump allows for precise oil delivery dependent on the job in hand., this can easily be adjusted on the job with a combi spanner.Specification
