The STIHL HLA 140 B is a high-performance cordless long-reach hedge trimmer designed for professional landscapers, gardeners and grounds maintenance teams. Powered by a 36V lithium-ion battery, this hedge trimmer offers excellent balance to reduce operator fatigue. The ergonomic control handle features variable speed control, allowing you to choose between three blade speeds (3,200, 3,600 or 4,000 rpm) to suit the task at hand. Thanks to the efficient EC motor, the blades accelerate rapidly to deliver outstanding cutting performance, while remaining comfortable for both left- and right-handed users.

With an impressive total length of 245 cm, the HLA 140 makes light work of tall hedges. The 60 cm (24”) laser-cut, double-sided, diamond-ground blades are friction-optimised for clean cuts, long-lasting sharpness and extended battery runtime. The cutter head adjusts through up to 145°, giving you flexibility to tackle hedges from any angle. An anti-lock function automatically reverses the blades if they become jammed, helping you clear thicker branches quickly and safely.

For easy transport, the cutting head folds flat to reduce the overall length to 188 cm. The trimmer is also IPX4 rated, meaning it can be used reliably in wet or rainy conditions.

When paired with the recommended STIHL AP 300 battery, the HLA 140 delivers up to 125 minutes of runtime, with intelligent electronics providing consistent power throughout the charge cycle. STIHL’s CONSTANT POWER technology ensures cutting performance doesn’t drop as the battery depletes, while POWER BOOST automatically delivers maximum output when required.
