Designed to replace the infamous Stihl MS170 petrol chainsaw, the MS 162 chainsaw boasts an improved modernised design, Stihl’s anti-vibration system, improved fuel and oil tank visibility, lateral chain tensioning and an improved control lever.

Equipped with a 12” cutting bar and chain, this entry level petrol chainsaw is ideally suited to cutting firewood, pruning or felling small trees. This chainsaw chain offers a high cutting performance thanks to the narrow kerf which results in lower resistance and lower power requirements. The chainsaw chain is quickly and easily tensioned thanks to the practical side mounted chain tensioner with the included combi tool.

Powered by a Stihl 2-MIX engine which offers an excellent cutting performance, reduced exhaust emissions and low fuel consumption. This low maintenance engine will use fuel efficiently even at high power levels to ensure running costs are kept as low as possible.

Designed to be easy to start the MS 162 chainsaw has single-lever operation so only one position is required to start the chainsaw and it is also effortless to restart thanks to the top function which will automatically move the control level back into the operating position once the machine is turned off to allow for a warm start immediately.

Boasting the STIHL anti vibration system which reduces transmission of vibrations to the handle which will help relieve strain on the users muscles and joints making it much more comfortable to use.
